WHAT IS THE "YELLOW LIGHT OF DEATH", "YLOD" OR "RED BLINKING LIGHT" PROBLEM ON
THE PS3?
The video below shows a PS3 that has the common symptom known as the "yellow
light of death", "YLOD" or "red blinking light", taking its name from how the
power light rapidly goes red-green-yellow-blinking red. According to Sony, this
means the PS3 has encountered a "general hardware failure" and the unit needs to
be sent in for service. For a fee that varies depending on the specific model
you have, Sony will exchange the entire console with a refurbished "slim" unit and you'll lose all your
game-saves on the hard drive.
Make no mistake, this is the worst symptom your PS3 could ever experience and
you will ultimately need a new console,
but there are ways to revive your unit and prolong the inevitable. Our YLOD Reflow Service is one of those methods that not only gets your PS3
back up and running but also gives you the opportunity to copy of all your hard-earned
saved game data to a replacement PS3
whenever you acquire one. Unfortunately, simply removing the PS3's hard drive
and installing it into a new replacement PS3 will not give you access to your

WHAT IS THE YLOD REFLOW / DATA RECOVERY SERVICE?
We completely disassemble the PS3 and perform a professional "reflow" on the
RSX and CBE chips to temporarily eliminate the general hardware fault. We then
coat the chips with premium thermal compound (Arctic Silver 5) to help dissipate
operational heat to the fan/heat-sink assembly. Unlike our competitors who offer
similar "reflow" procedures, we will also offer an option to locate and copy your non-protected
game-save data and user profiles to a USB flash
drive that we supply. The system then undergoes a testing phase
to ensure the
service has been completed successfully and the console's functionality is
stable before it is finally reassembled.

A benefit of this service is that since the PS3 will be functional when you get it back, it may now command a higher resale or trade-in value at your local
video game store; a working
system is always worth a lot more than one that does not work at all.

The cost for the Reflow Service is $59.99 and includes free return shipping by
Fedex Ground on all successful repairs. For an extra $10.00 we will
also copy your non-protected data to a USB flash drive. If you are a resident of
Florida, we are also required to collect 6% sales tax.
Please note: some game-saves are copy-protected
and cannot be copied. Examples of copy-protected titles include Killzone 2,
Bayonetta, Rockband, Guitar
Hero, Heavy Rain, Resident Evil 5, Assassins Creed 2, Tiger
Woods PGA 12. If you're a Final Fantasy, Uncharted, or
Call of Duty fan, you'll be pleased to know
their game-saves are not copy-protected and can
be successfully transferred. In fact, most

HOW MUCH WILL I HAVE TO PAY IF THE REFLOW / DATA

In the event that the Service is unsuccessful in temporarily

$49.99 fee will be waived and you will receive a
full refund minus return shipping charges. Alternatively you can apply the
amount you already paid towards a brand new PS3.
WHAT PERCENTAGE OF PS3'S ARE NON-RECOVERABLE EVEN AFTER PERFORMING THE SERVICE?

The Data Recovery Service is not a permanent repair
solution; its primary purpose is to make the PS3
temporarily operational so your data and user
profiles can be
retrieved from the hard drive.
Unfortunately, simply removing the PS3's hard drive and installing it into a

the PS3 will continue to function

HOW LONG IS THE REFLOW / DATA RECOVERY SERVICE WARRANTY?
We provide a 90-day limited warranty for this procedure as long as the console
arrives at our facility in an un-tampered state.
If the PS3 has a warranty
sticker that has been tampered or was issued by
another company, has been totally removed or the
console displays any other signs of tampering,
this procedure will include no warranty.
We therefore recommend you immediately try to
trade the unit as a "working / refurbished"
system while it still continues to function.
Remember - a working PS3 is always worth a lot
more than a dead PS3.
