What are the differences between the various statuses such as "refurbished" and "used"?
"Brand New Factory Sealed" is defined as a 100% brand new gaming system that comes in a factory-sealed box -- just like you would hope to find on the shelves at the large retailers like Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Target, etc. "Refurbished" is defined as a console we originally received in non-working condition, and minor internal components were replaced and / or labor services were performed by RSOL PC to get the console back up and running. Only after the unit has passed a 72-hour diagnostic burn-in, is the item listed for sale. We do not ever sell consoles that previously experienced a major system failure such as "YLOD", "RSOD" or other system-board related issues. The item will not include controllers or AV cables unless specified in the "Comments" section. "Sony Refurbished" is defined as a console that has been refurbished and tested directly by Sony. All Sony Refurbished consoles appear as if they are brand-new because the outer-shell casing has been replaced. Internal components may be used or refurbished but are guaranteed by Sony to be fully functional. Does not include controllers or AV cables unless specified in the "Comments" section. "Used" is defined as a console we received in proper working condition / requiring no repairs, and is sold as-is. Does not include controllers or AV cables unless specified in the "Comments" section.
What are the differences between the various cosmetic conditions?
"Mint" means the system has not been touched by human hands since it left the factory. "Near Mint" means the system itself looks brand new and contains no cosmetic blemishes or fingerprints because it is shrink-wrapped. This cosmetic condition is usually applied exclusively to "Sony Refurbished" consoles. "Excellent" means the system is very clean but may have some minor scuff marks or minimal light scratches that are confined to concealed areas. Clear-coat finish will show no signs of degradation. "Very Good" means the system is very clean but may have some minor scuff marks and / or minimal light scratch marks in more visible areas. Clear-coat finish may show early signs of degradation. "Good" means the system looks noticeably used. It will have obvious signs of wear & tear. May have multiple light scratch marks and minimal deep scratch marks. Clear-coat finish may be noticeably degraded. "Fair" means the system has very obvious signs of wear & tear and the shell casing may have cracks, hinge doors may be inoperable, and bezels may be broken or missing. Clear-coat finish will be noticeably degraded. The system itself is however guaranteed to be fully functional.
